RAMC Rawalpindi

The Regional Agrometeorological Center Rawalpindi had become operational in 1987-88 and started recording meteorological data from June 1988. 

Regional Agromet Centre Rawalpindi is working round a clock. The duties are Data preparation(Weekly, Decadal and monthly), data scrutiny and look after and up date the equipment , regular monitoring of phonological stages of cultivated crops, meeting with agronomist to discuss on cultivated crops, and preparation of crop Reports.

At RAMC Rawalpindi meteorological data is recorded from the meteorological observatory and is provided to the Arid Agriculture University on daily basis. The data is also sent to National Agromet  Centre (NAMC).

The phenological observation of the field crop is taken from the fields of Arid Agriculture University and Millat department fields and are recorded on prescribed forms. Soil moisture from the field of crop is also calculated. At the end of each crop season, a detailed crop report is prepared. This report includes the agrometeorological analysis of different phonological stages of the crop and hence the yield. Following two crops are observed.

• Wheat (Rabi crop)

• Maize (Kharif crop)
